Metal Replacement
PEEK Fasteners

PEEK's strength and toughness (tensile strength from 14K to 16K; Izod Impact Notched from 2.1 to 5) at light weights coupled with thermal and dimensional stability make it a prime candidate for replacement of metals and other composites. The polymer is inherently flame retardant (a property that increases in grades containing fillers), completely non-corrosive and non-conductive, and maintains superior long term dimensional integrity.

Transmissions
PEEK Transmission Components

Carbon fiber filled and graphite (PTFE) filled PEEK have magnificent wear properties and extremely low coefficients of friction. Combining that with high heat (CUT 300 C) and chemical resistance and retention of dimensions over time gives long life to PEEK components in "under-the-hood" automotive and industrial transmissions.


Medical Devices
PEEK Safety Scalpel

PEEK can be sterilized using all conventional sterilization methods, including steam, ethylene oxide, vaporized hydrogen peroxide and gamma radiation. It also has a high degree of purity in its unfilled grades. FDA approved material.


Automotive
PEEK Bearings

With maximum heat deflection temperatures (HDT) ranging up to 315°C and continuous use temperatures to 300°C PEEK is an excellent option for "under the hood" automotive applications.

Tribology is critical in engine components. Carbon filled PEEK provides exceptional friction and wear properties over a wide range of temperatures.

PEEK polymers lend themselves well to over molding and insert molding. Compatible with a variety of substrates, PEEK's free flow melt characteristics conform readily to intricate geometries to achieve full packing out of the part and full coverage of the insert.
